We began remodeling the bath house soon after purchasing the campground in November 2016. The walls were given a fresh coat of paint, new toilets installed and wood/old tin accents put in both the men's and women's restroom. The toilet stalls needed to be lowered. Damien cut 12" off of the supports in the women's restroom but we had difficulty re-installing them so that the doors would operate correctly. Our priorities were directed to other projects in preparation for the grand re-opening so the women's restroom was not completed and the stalls in the men's restroom still needed to be lowered.
Mr. and Mrs. Felts, who live in North Carolina, attended the re-opening and before they even arrived I knew that there was something special about them. They had driven through the campground earlier that month, found a site that they liked and seemed excited about attending our event. Prior to their departure from the weekend activities, they offered to volunteer their time to complete the work that needed to be done in the bath house.
Yesterday they arrived with not only their smiles and willingness to work but they also brought outside mats to put in front to the doors and mats for the changing areas in the showers. We are so grateful for their willingness to help with improvements to the campground and the donation of their time and materials.
